Project Description:

In collaboration with Wolveridge Architects, Osprey reflects the materiality of the peninsula landscape, prioritizing open green space and featuring a thoughtfully designed pocket park.

The multi-residential housing development employs a warm, natural palette, incorporating Hillview quarry stone, Dromana toppings and clusters of indigenous planting to reflect the imagery of the surrounding peninsula landscape. Thoughtful planting of indigenous species at the building's entrance and facade will gradually integrate the building into its natural setting, with canopy trees providing scale and creating a connection to the nearby pocket park. The north of the site features a pocket park, serving as a community hub for residents, facilitating seamless and universal access for Osprey and nearby residents while also extending the wildlife corridor down from the adjacent reserve. The park takes advantage of its northern aspect to provide valuable, year-round open space, featuring terraces of open lawn, a gravel pétanque court, a small vegetable/herb garden and indigenous coastal planting and canopy trees.
