Hawthorn
At the time of engagement a prolonged drought was in full swing. The visionary owners were keen to develop a new garden to replace the original water, and maintenance, intensive ‘Spring’ garden. The brief requested a sustainable garden that would require minimal watering, one that would utilise on site stormwater run-off and have the ability to treat any run-off before discharging it to the waterways beyond the site. Additionally the garden was to enhance the architecture, and provide a dynamic outdoor living environment to be framed by textural planting design.
