Deakin University Waurn Ponds Central Campus Precinct
The project involved a complete upgrade of the central core of the campus. The aim was to de institutionalise the space by creating multiple spaces on varying scales, providing for a range of uses, and at the same time creating a social place with a collegiate atmosphere.
In time, as the trees and gardens establish, the central campus precinct will become a more intimate space with less dominant building facades and more emphasis on the ground plane and surrounding landscape.
